Spring Reset: Clearing Habits That Drain Your Energy/ By Adriana Martín

Spring has always symbolized renewal. It is the season when nature blooms and everything seems to invite a fresh start. However, we rarely think about applying that same principle to our well-being and our bodies.

After the first months of the year, many people are already carrying fatigue, accumulated stress, or habits that gradually drain their energy. Some even begin to abandon the resolutions they set at the end of the year. From the perspective of my program Biohacking Natural 40+, well-being is not always about adding more routines, but about identifying which practices are affecting our physical and mental balance.

Spring is an ideal time to do an internal “reset” and release what is not contributing to our vitality.

Five habits I recommend reviewing and transforming:

  1. Morning sunlight: 10–15 minutes of sunlight upon waking helps regulate your hormones, improve mood, and sleep better. Visual: step out onto a balcony or open a window.
  2. Water with electrolytes: Proper hydration improves energy, skin, and concentration. Tip: add a pinch of salt and lemon to your water.
  3. Breathing for stress: The 4-4-4-4 breathing technique (box breathing) can reduce anxiety within minutes.
  4. Sleep cool: Lowering your bedroom temperature improves sleep quality and helps burn fat while you sleep. Visual: thermostat / light blanket.
  5. Strategic coffee: Don’t drink coffee immediately after waking. Wait 60–90 minutes to avoid an energy crash.

Spring reminds us that change is a natural part of life. Resetting habits does not require radical transformations, but rather small, conscious decisions sustained over time: moving more, resting better, disconnecting from what drains your energy, and reconnecting with what nourishes you.

Sometimes, true well-being is not about doing more, but about letting go of what no longer adds value and replacing it with habits that truly fulfill you. That can be the first step toward regaining energy, clarity, and balance.
